Senior Controls Engineer – PLC/HMI
Location: Rochester, NY
Salary: $125,000 – $145,000 + Discretionary Bonus (10%) + Benefits

Senior Controls Engineer – PLC/HMI Description

Our client in the industrial automation and process systems industry is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to add to their team. In this role, you will lead full project lifecycles for industrial automation and process control systems. Leveraging your background in PLC/HMI programming, electrical control panel design, and system integration, you will work closely with clients to deliver customized automation solutions for large-scale food and beverage manufacturing operations. Senior Controls Engineer – PLC/HMI Responsibilities

•    Develop automation and control system architecture diagrams
•    Design electrical control panels and create schematic drawings using AutoCAD
•    Specify control system components and prepare system documentation 
•    Develop PLC I/O assignments and program using Allen-Bradley Logix platforms
•    Develop HMI/SCADA applications using industry-standard platforms
•    Design industrial communication networks and supporting data infrastructure
•    Support new/existing client systems and participate in onsite commissioning/startup activities
•    Train client operations and maintenance teams on equipment and control system functionality
•    Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers

Senior Controls Engineer – PLC/HMI Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
•    7+ years industrial automation and controls programming experience required
•    Experience within food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries required
•    Strong PLC and HMI programming experience required
•    Demonstrated expertise in system integration and commissioning required
