Job description

At Clark Pacific, the Senior Business Development Manager plays a key role in expanding our presence throughout Arizona by developing and strengthening relationships with existing and prospective clients. This position focuses on the data center, mission-critical, and advanced manufacturing markets, identifying strategic opportunities and converting leads into successful projects. Working closely with Preconstruction, Engineering, Marketing, and other internal teams, this role develops winning pursuit strategies, builds long-term client partnerships, and helps drive Clark Pacific's continued growth throughout the Southwest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, and other key decision-makers throughout the Arizona market.
  • Create and actively manage leads from initial contact through the preconstruction phase.
  • Develop and deliver proposals and presentations that convert opportunities into awarded projects.
  • Establish revenue, profit margin, and market share goals aligned with Clark Pacific's business objectives.
  • Represent Clark Pacific at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing, and other internal teams to develop winning pursuit strategies.
  • Provide leadership and coordination for Business Development Managers while serving as a communication link with the Director of Preconstruction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of business development experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience developing business within the Phoenix/Arizona market.
  • Experience building relationships with General Contractors, Owners, Architects, and Engineers.
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of construction processes and construction delivery methods.
  • Experience in the data center market strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Proven history of success in construction industry client relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and Salesforce.
  • Thorough understanding of the business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, qualification, capture planning, and proposal development.
