Lead Complex Architecture Projects and Mentor Growing Teams

A design-focused architecture firm is seeking a Senior Architect for its Dallas or Fort Worth office. This role is ideal for an experienced licensed architect who can manage large, complex projects, present technical and design solutions to clients, and help guide less-experienced architects through project delivery.

This opportunity is a strong fit for someone who enjoys technical leadership, client-facing work, project coordination, mentoring, and involvement from concept through construction administration.

Why This Role Stands Out

This position gives you the chance to work on complex projects while helping lead design and technical delivery. You will partner closely with project managers, supervise teams, coordinate jurisdictional requirements, guide documentation, and support construction administration.

  • Collaborative studio culture
  • Leadership and mentoring opportunities
  • Exposure to large, complex architecture projects
  • Career growth in a senior technical role

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Architect, you will help lead project teams, coordinate design and technical delivery, and support project success from early planning through construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage multiple large, complex architecture projects
  • Present technical and design solutions directly to clients
  • Work closely with project managers to execute project plans
  • Supervise design and technical delivery teams
  • Develop and mentor less-experienced architects and coordinators
  • Create project work plans, staffing plans, scopes, schedules, and deliverables
  • Coordinate design concepts with project criteria and jurisdictional requirements
  • Investigate and recommend technical design solutions
  • Coordinate materials, specifications, and construction documents
  • Conduct jurisdictional research and support land use, zoning, and permitting approvals
  • Manage QA/QC throughout the project life cycle
  • Review construction cost estimates and construction schedules
  • Support construction observation, OAC meetings, submittal reviews, RFIs, and PR documents
  • Help improve internal practices, templates, tools, and project delivery processes

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with strong technical judgment, leadership ability, and experience managing complex architectural work.

Qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of post-graduation architecture experience preferred
  • Professional degree in architecture or related field required
  • Architecture licensure in good standing required
  • NCARB certification preferred
  • AIA, CSI, NCARB, IIDA, LEED, or WELL accreditation preferred
  • Experience in construction administration
  • Strong knowledge of architectural building systems, construction methodology, materials, sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, consultation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Newforma, and Revit/BIM360 preferred
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, Clarity, Enscape, and SketchUp preferred

Who This Is For

This opportunity is best for an experienced architect who wants to lead complex projects, mentor developing staff, and serve as a senior technical voice within a collaborative architecture studio.

The right person will be comfortable working with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, and internal teams while helping deliver high-quality architecture from concept through construction.
