Requirements

Job Title: Multi-Season Assistant Coach Position for Upper and Middle School Teams

Division: Athletics

Reports to: Dean of Athletics and Director of Athletic Operations

King School is looking to fill multi-season coach roles for the 2023-24 school year. This position will have an opportunity to coach in our Middle (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) athletic programs and to take on leadership responsibilities for as many as six different teams throughout the year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Highly motivated candidates possessing strong leadership and communication skills, along with a background in coaching and/or teaching, are encouraged to apply.
  • Successful candidates will also have the proven ability to constructively collaborate with both children and adults in a positive spirit and be expected to uphold and promote the mission and philosophy of the King School and the Athletic Department, while following the rules set forth by the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) and the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).
  • Middle School sports generally start at 2:15 p.m. each afternoon while the Upper School sports begin closer to 3:30 p.m. Depending on the season and the sport, practices and competitions may wrap up as early as 5:00 p.m. or go as late as 7:30 p.m. Upper School fall pre-season begins in late-August, while all spring sports are wrapped up before June.
  • King School has a diverse set of athletic offerings each season in the Middle and Upper School programs, including teams at the Varsity, Junior Varsity and MS levels.
