Now Hiring: Squash Instructor (Part-Time)
Are you someone who enjoys working with people, helping others learn new skills, and creating positive experiences? Whether you have squash coaching experience or simply a passion for sports, youth development, and community engagement, we'd love to meet you.
The Lynch van Otterloo YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Part-Time Squash Instructor to help grow and strengthen our dynamic squash community. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with youth and beginner players while helping participants of all ages develop skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for the sport.
Our squash center features three singles courts and one doubles court, providing a welcoming environment for lessons, clinics, leagues, and community events. The Squash Instructor will report directly to the LVO Sports Director and work closely with our supportive Squash Community Council.
What You'll Do
  • Lead squash lessons, clinics, and beginner instruction for youth and adults
  • Create a welcoming, positive, and engaging environment for participants of all skill levels
  • Help players build confidence, sportsmanship, and foundational squash skills
  • Support youth squash sessions and recreational activities
  • Encourage participation and foster long-term interest in the sport
  • Assist with squash events, leagues, round robins, and community programming
  • Build strong relationships with participants, families, and YMCA members
  • Support a culture aligned with the YMCA's mission and values

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are critical. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • One to two years of related experience is preferred.
  • US Squash Level I Instructor ideal, or ability/willingness to be certified
