Remote SQL SSRS Developers collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver solutions that help organizations make data-driven decisions. They often work with large databases and must ensure data security and integrity while working from a remote location.

How to become a SQL SSRS developer?

The minimum qualifications to become a remote SQL SSRS developer include a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as engineering or computer science. Employers typically seek candidates who have several years of experience working with data warehouses, databases, and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or other BI tools, especially in the energy, utility, or energy efficiency sectors. You should also have sufficient experience working with an SQL server, analytical and programming skills, and the ability to perform query tuning. • Analyze and maintain table DDL to store source data in the required format and structure
  • Analyze and maintain views that present warehoused data in customer-specified formats
  • Create and execute test scripts and support customer, change request, system-level, and regression testing
  • Work within an Agile SDLC and use Jira for ticketing and workflow management
  • Report progress, risks, blockers, and metrics to program leadership and the Integrated Product Team (IPT)
  • Champion adherence to established Product Development Workflow and ORCA processes

What You'll Do

  • Develop complex SQL and T-SQL within Microsoft SQL Server
  • Build stored procedures, views, tables, and related database objects from scratch
  • Support ETL and reporting solutions within the CSDW data warehouse environment
  • Troubleshoot data issues and implement reliable, production-ready fixes
  • Use GitHub and Bash for source version control
  • Support manual, exception, and regression testing using tools such as Zephyr and Tosca
  • Coordinate with teams supporting SSIS and Databricks
  • Apply commercial aviation maintenance knowledge to identify requirement gaps, exceptions, regulatory considerations, and potential production impacts
  • Maintain awareness of related project activities and identify direct or indirect impacts on work in progress
  • Support off-site testing at customer locations as necessary

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience developing complex SQL for ETL or reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to create stored procedures, views, and tables within Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with SQL/T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience or familiarity with Agile SDLC processes and development tools such as GitHub, Bash, Jira, and Zephyr
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
