Industrial Engineering amp; Operations Analytics Internship
Summer 2027- May 17th through August 13th
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Level: Intern
Division / Department: Logistics
Reporting to position: Director of Operations Retail Logistics

About the Role:
The Do It Best Logistics Team is looking to employ a self-motivated, analytical summer intern that will be paid on an hourly basis. The Industrial Engineering amp; Operations Analytics Intern will support the Logistics Operations team in designing and building the Do it Best Logistics Performance Operating System (LPOS), an integrated framework that enables data-driven operational excellence across the company’s expanding distribution network.
This is a temporary position beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. This internship is paid on an hourly basis.
No relocation is offered, candidates must be local to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area for the Summer 2027 timeframe.
The Intern may also be able to use this opportunity towards university/college credit.

Responsibilities include:
  • Create reports and tools on-demand
  • Manipulate data from multiple sources
  • Support DC operations providing training and technical support of reporting tools

Education and Experience:
  • Current college student
  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
  • Experience within data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Access and Power BI.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data
  • Design User Interfaces to simplify data analysis for lay users
  • Ability to complete basic statistical analysis (descriptive and inferential)
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiar with statistical analysis and troubleshooting
