Job description

Job Title: SQL Developer
Location: O’Fallon, MO
Reports To: Sr. DBA and Developer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Principal Purpose of Position:
The SQL Developer handle pressure, but be able to take a joke, team oriented/collaborative but have the knowledge. Communication is a big key. Does not want someone that is combative but can take constructive criticism (Coachable)
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • 2-5 years of sound SQL Development experience
  • T-SQL
  • Build tables, create databases, stored procedures, indexing, etc.
  • Documentations
  • Someone not over analytical but can take initiative not orders.
  • Job history is important
  • 2 step interview process, sometimes a 3rd (dress to impress for interviews)
Education and Experience:
· Knowledge of how to use aggregates.
· Understanding of normalization.
· Ability to create stored procedures and views.
· Ability to create technical documents to explain the solution implemented.
· Strong communication skills, able to express code and design decisions to other technical staff and business analysts.
· Good in performance tuning especially tuning complex queries, procedures and indexing strategies.
· Able to create entity relationship diagram.
· Knowledge of SQL transaction processing.
· Able to write stored procedures for highly transactional systems and data modeling.
· Understanding primary and foreign key relations.
· Knowledge of exception handling.
· Ability to process multiple records in a loop as individual transactions.
· Hard core SQL/T-SQL Programming.
· Proficiency at creating optimized SQL statements that are scalable.
· BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
