• 8+ years of experience in database administration and support of large MS SQL Server database environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016.
• Assess current state databases and server environment and ability to inventory databases and servers.
• Analyze Cluster and High Availability configurations and track server resource utilizations.
• Perform SQL Server capacity planning for Data Migration to new Data centers.
• Identifying, reporting and resolving data migration issues, incompatibility issues, invalid objects, obsoleted functionalities.
• Hands on experience in Microsoft tools such as DMA, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience in Database Replication, Database Mirroring.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues.
• Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
• Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication.
• Strong knowledge of how indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
• Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs)
• Documentation skills for processes and procedures ( creating runbooks, topology etc )
