Senior SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. This role is responsible for the performance, integrity, security, and availability of enterprise database systems across both on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SQL Server, strong experience in Azure and AWS, and a proven track record in database performance tuning and monitoring using Datadog.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases in high-availability environments
  • Perform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
  • Monitor database performance and system health using Datadog and other tools
  • Manage and support cloud-based database solutions in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Configure and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Troubleshoot database issues, including performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, and outages
  • Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Support database migrations, upgrades, and cloud transformations
  • Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams to optimize application performance
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, etc.)
  • Provide on-call support as needed for production environments
Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and performance troubleshooting
  • Experience managing large-scale, mission-critical databases
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of other database platforms (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, or SQL Server
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments
