SQL Data Developer (SSIS or SSRS) Full Time

Long Term

The Data Solutions Developer creates and maintains data acquisition, transformation, and integration solutions for operational, reporting, and analytical purposes. The Data Solutions Developer is often called upon to load data from transactional systems into the data warehouse, applying prescribed transformations and business logic. He or she is also responsible for generating source-to-target mapping documents and other metadata necessary to make data assets understandable and easily used. He or she will adhere to the data management fundamentals and best practices defined by TFIC. Duties and responsibilities include the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and support efficient and reliable processes to extract, transform, clean, and move data from a variety of sources into a data warehouse or data extracts using ETL Tools (SSIS, Data Migrator, etc.) and/or stored procedures
  • Support the operation of the Data Warehouse during business hours and as part of an on-call rotation as needed.
  • Work in tandem with business and IT subject matter experts to define data extracts as well as process scheduling and issue resolution
  • Develop solutions which adhere to development, architecture standards, and best practices as set by the Data Architect and Data Governance committee.
  • Optimize database structures and SQL code for maximum performance and reliability
  • Document new applications, review and update existing documentation related to data processes and structures
  • Provide back-end support and data integration development assistance to other teams and application developers
  • Operationalize prototype data solutions developed by other team members or data analysts
  • Perform peer review and occasional QA support for solutions developed by other associates within the Data Management group or other functional areas
  • Investigate and document current data flow processes between corporate systems, business partners, and downstream data consumers
  • Participate in the design and development of target-state analytics ecosystem using traditional and big data tools, as well as a mix of on-premises and cloud infrastructure
  • Other duties assigned by management

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience developing high-performing data flows, adhering to established best-practices
  • Experience in SQL development - creating complex queries, views, and stored procedures
  • Experience interfacing with business stakeholders to understand data and analytics needs and deliver solutions
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data structures
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Data Migrator is preferred
  • Experience in data warehousing patterns such as Kimball, Inman, Data Vault is preferred
  • Experience in Agile Scrum and / or Kanban project management frameworks is preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws is preferred
