Job description

We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in designing fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 20, and preferably NYC building codes. This role involves working on various project types, including commercial, industrial, mixed-use, educational, and medical facilities, and requires occasional travel to project sites. The designer will report to the Lead Engineer and utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD, Sprink-CAD, Autosprink, and HydraCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Design fire sprinkler and fire standpipe systems
  • Develop system layouts and ensure code compliance
  • Review and approve fire protection plans
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and project teams
  • Conduct technical analysis to optimize system performance
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met throughout design phases
  • Coordinate design efforts with BIM integration
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding design and project status

Required Qualifications
