Job description

 Mechanical Test Engineer
US Citizen-Confidential or Higher Clearance Required
On site: Middletown RI
W2 Hourly Contract: $54.50 to 67.45 Per hour* DOE

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical - Hardware Test Engineer  to perform instrumentation planning and conduct testing of all Hardware Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, and structural testing.  Due to the nature of this defense industry program, an active Confidential or Higher level clearance is required. 

In addition to that active clearance, and testing experience the manager would like to see:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
  • 3+ years of relevant experience 
  • Experience in Hardware and Environmental Testing (i.e. Dynamic Shock/Vibration, Climatic, Structural)
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation, or structural testing
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently
  • Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent
  • Experience with Matlab
  • Experience presenting to external customers
  • Must have the ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
