Job description

Job Title

Village Handcrafted Cabinetry is a family owned and operated custom cabinetry company that has been in business for 3 decades. Our award-winning work, unsurpassed customer service and premium install department distinguishes us from other builders and cabinet makers.

Essential Duties

  • Primary responsibility is professional spray application of finishes on custom cabinetry, ensuring consistent color, sheen and film build across projects.
  • Perform high-quality spray application of stains, sealers, toners, paints, lacquers and conversion varnishes using air-assisted, HVLP, or conventional spray equipment.
  • Prepare wood surfaces specifically for spray finishing, including sanding sequences, grain raising, cleaning, and masking to ensure optimal coating adhesion and appearance.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain spray guns, pumps, pressure pots, tips, and fluid settings to achieve proper atomization and finish consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized spray booth, including proper filtration, airflow awareness, and material handling processes.
  • Other finishing duties as needed including touch-ups, color matching, and final inspection.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs multiple times per day.
  • Looking for experience but will train right candidate.

Skills And Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with spray application of wood coatings in a production or shop environment.
  • Strong understanding of spray gun setup, fan patterns, fluid control, air pressure adjustments, and transfer efficiency.
  • Familiarity with various coating systems such as waterborne finishes, lacquers, conversion varnishes, stains, and sealers.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain standard of quality through detailed inspection.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Hardworking, punctual and reliable.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-end finished wood surfaces.

Physical Requirements

  • At all times, employees are required to be fit for duty.
  • Employees are required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Employees stand for long periods of time.
  • Employees may work in loud work areas.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection and PPE for extended periods while spraying finishes.
  • This position may require annual respiratory fit test.
