What is sports video production?

Sports video production is the process of capturing, editing, and broadcasting live or recorded sports events for television, online streaming, or other media platforms. It involves a team of professionals such as camera operators, directors, producers, and editors who work together to create engaging and high-quality video content. The goal is to provide viewers with an immersive experience, whether for live audiences or highlight reels, interviews, and analysis.

What are jobs in sports video production?

Jobs in sports video production involve duties related to the production of sports video content for television shows, games, newscasts, and digital content. As a sports video producer, you oversee the production processes of creating sports videos and putting them on the air. Responsibilities also include producing highlight reels and preparing sports segments for on-air use. As a video editor, you use your skills to edit footage, create clips, and piece footage together to create videos. About Diversified:
Diversified is a global leader in audiovisual and media technology. We design and build innovative spaces and experiences for clients across industries such as corporate, entertainment, sports, retail, and government. Our team partners with organizations around the world to create environments that connect people through technology.
What to Expect:
At Diversified, you'll work on exciting and complex projects with opportunities to grow your career. We offer a collaborative and flexible work environment, competitive pay and benefits, and a culture that values diversity, inclusion, and innovation. If you're ready to grow, create, and make an impact, Diversified is the place to do it.
How You'll Contribute:
The Onsite Studio, Live Events & Break Fix Technician is a hybrid role delivering operational and technical support for Studio & Live Events, as well as providing break-fix support for the associated technology in their studio, meeting rooms, auditorium and event spaces. This position is entirely onsite at our corporate client's North American headquarters located in Wilmington DE.
The objective of this role is to ensure that the various AV spaces, the studio, the auditorium, and the event spaces are maintained across the campus; the equipment is maintained within optimal working condition, and end users (where applicable) are conversant with the equipment they are using - all with the outcome to ensure Diversified provides an exceptional level of service to our clients.
While there are regular duties to be undertaken, the demands upon the function can be unpredictable, often with tight deadlines - and the individual executing this role must have proven skills in dealing with such environments.
The normal work schedule for this role will be a Monday - Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM shift, but flexibility in the working hours is essential, especially when helping with client live events (preparation for which may start in the early hours or potentially extend into the evening).
This role would be working as part of a live events team, as well as a service support team; playing a key part in all aspects of AV in relation to supporting the client's events (i.e. pre-planning, identifying technical requirements, attending meetings in an advisory capacity, and live event execution). You will also provide support for client meetings as well as assistance with studio and auditorium related technology and functions.
In summary, this role is responsible for supporting the organization's meeting spaces, auditorium, production studio, and enterprise live event spaces while providing technical expertise for live, hybrid, and recorded events. You will be working closely with Workplace Technology, Communications, Marketing, and business stakeholders, operating and maintaining professional production technologies, supporting executive presentations, and helping to deliver polished broadcast-quality experiences across the campus.
What You'll Do:

Previous experience with such products is essential, as well as Control Systems, Wireless Audio, Lighting Controllers, VC Equipment, and PTZ Camera Equipment.
  • You will be required to operate a variety of event types: from a smaller local scale, up to full auditorium events where the system would be dialed into a global call and broadcasted across the company.
  • Conducting pre-event checks and post-event breakdowns is part of the experience needed.
  • On-site support for larger scale events where external event agencies will be interfacing to and utilizing the "house" equipment which is already installed on-site.
  • Must have an ability to work closely with our client's Meetings and Events Team, both coordinating the event before, during, and after.
  • Maintenance of the events equipment as well as liaising with Break Fix resources for incidents. Coordinating your time to ensure event requests and standards are met.
  • Supporting live, hybrid, and recorded corporate events, executive presentations, and employee communications.
  • Operating and maintaining production studio equipment, event technologies, and enterprise AV systems.
  • Setting up and operating professional camera, audio, lighting, and video production equipment.
  • Supporting live streaming, recording, switching, and content capture for internal and external events.
  • Preparing production environments, conducting equipment testing, and troubleshooting technical issues before and during events.
  • Partnering with the client's Communications, Workplace Technology, Facilities, Security and external vendors to deliver successful productions. Strong contract/vendor relationships.
