We are seeking a Project Manager to support our team at Tarkett Sports Construction Central, a trusted partner in design-build and sports construction. This role will be based in Indianapolis, IN and report to the Nick Von Hollen. The Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from bid award through final completion, ensuring successful execution of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations. This position serves as the primary point of coordination between internal departments, customers, contractors, architects, and suppliers to deliver exceptional project outcomes while supporting the company's operational and financial objectives.

What You'll Do
As a Project Manager, you will lead the successful execution of construction projects while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and an outstanding customer experience throughout every phase of the project lifecycle.
Project Management & Delivery
  • Manage projects from bid award through project completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, production, logistics, installation, commissioning, and project closeout activities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to minimize schedule delays and cost impacts.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project status, milestones, risks, and solutions.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently met while delivering a high-quality project experience.

Financial & Operational Performance
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to achieve or exceed profitability objectives.
  • Monitor project costs, labor utilization, procurement activities, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations to improve project forecasting and margin performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency and project consistency.

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Project Administrator and project support staff.
  • Foster collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, Production, Logistics, Technical Services, Customer Service, and Field Operations.
  • Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, contractual obligations, and the Tarkett Code of Ethics.
  • Support commissioning activities, inspections, testing, and final project acceptance.
  • Promote safe work practices and proactively address safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure timely project closeout.

What You Need for Success
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant construction project management experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in construction or a related industry.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with sports construction, commercial construction, or design-build projects is preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Experience with ERP, project management, or construction management systems is preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and profitability.
