Title: Paralegal

Reports to: Associate General Counsel

About the Role:

The paralegal will support a dynamic, multiindustry organization as a dual corporate and litigation paralegal. Manage case intake, filings, research, deadlines, and document production while partnering closely with attorneys, risk management, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  Dual Corporate and Litigation role.

  Assist litigation attorneys and risk management department with case and matter management.

  Prepare pleading and letter templates for use in litigation and in corresponding with governmental bodies.

  Interface with internal clients to compile documents and respond to subpoenas.

  File and serve pleadings and prepare proofs of service.

  Calendar and track litigation and other deadlines.

  Organize and process pleadings, correspondence, exhibits and other documents.

  Assist transactional attorneys with information gathering, research, and transaction tracking.

  Assist the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel with intake of service of process and routine corporate filings.

  Perform other duties as assigned, including light clerical duties.

Qualifications:

  3 year of experience as a litigation or transactional paralegal.

  Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Paralegal Certification, or equivalent work experience.

  Strong time management, organization, reasoning and research skills.

  Excellent computer skills, written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail.

  Ability to quickly respond to changing instructions and understand complex cases.

  Experience cite-checking, proofing, filing, and serving motions and other papers in state and federal courts

  Working knowledge of software tools necessary to conduct litigation (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Acrobat, and document management systems).

  Familiarity with search techniques and operation of Lexis and similar legal research databases.

  Ability to solve practical problems, take direction, multi-task and prioritize.

  Ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner.

  Excellent work ethic and attendance.

  Consistency in giving feedback regarding work progress, timetable and issues.
