Job Description & Responsibilities: The Assistant Warehouse Manager is an experienced leader with exemplary organizational, team building and time management skills. This role is responsible for effective and accurate movement, storage, and transfer of inventory. You will plan and communicate daily assignments, monitor and report metrics, train and direct warehouse staff, problem-solve, and plan and facilitate process improvements to increase quality and quantity efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Primary areas of responsibility include engaging in team member performance management including coaching conversations, delivering disciplinary action, participation in performance reviews and performance improvement plans.
  • Regularly conducts interviews and assists in selection of candidates for Material Handler and Warehouse Lead roles
  • Directs daily assignments for team members.
  • Works with department head to identify, improve and/or resolve bottlenecks, waste, and process inefficiencies.
  • Conducts inventory management, cycle counting, and product transfers.
  • Cross-train team members in each of the areas of responsibility.
  • Train in all areas and provide backup where needed to ensure successful outcomes for the team.
  • Addresses operational issues using continuous improvement methods and assist in implementing operational changes.
  • Partners collaboratively with a broader operations management team to facilitate efficient and streamlined work processes.
  • Practices and applies safe working principles, creating awareness for all employees; promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Updates and reporst metrics regularly.
  • Demonstrates accountability.

  • Experience in ERP environments with MS Dynamics a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Talking, listening, and typing for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds regularly.
