Woodward Park City is looking for a Action Sports Lead Coach to support safe, fun, and progression-focused winter programming for guests and employees. This hands-on leadership role supports coaches in winter action sports, assists with daily operations, and helps ensure that teaching, safety, and guest service standards remain consistent throughout the season.

What You'll Do
  • Lead by example by following Woodward Park City policies, procedures, safety standards, and guest-service expectations.

  • Support daily winter action sports operations by coaching staff, monitoring activity areas, and helping maintain a safe and engaging environment.

  • Provide direct feedback, mentoring, and education to coaches to improve consistency, confidence, and guest experience.

  • Assist with guest concerns or complaints in a calm, professional, and solution-focused manner.

  • Share timely information with supervisors and managers related to injuries, behavior concerns, operational issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead and document staff meetings, safety topics, coaching clinics, and area-specific training assigned.

  • Understand and apply beginner teaching progressions for at least two winter action sports.

  • Create lesson plans, skill progressions, and training materials when needed to support guest and staff development.

  • Proactively engage with coaches, guests, and participants to promote safety, fun, inclusion, and progression.

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of Woodward Park City facilities and activity areas, including indoor and outdoor winter operations spaces.

What We're Looking For
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Two or more years of experience in coaching, instruction, recreation, action sports, guest service, or a related field.

  • Sport-specific certifications such as PSIA/AASI, PMBIA, USASA, SafeSport, CDC Heads Up concussion training, or similar preferred credentials.

  • Comfort working in active environments, at heights, and occasionally in confined spaces.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and leading training or coaching conversations.

  • Passion for teaching kids and guests in an action sports environment.

Requirements
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor winter environments.

  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak seasonal periods as needed.

  • Schedule may vary based on business needs, programming, and weather conditions.
