POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, you will design, plan, and organize individual or group activities, whether they are sports, intellectual, recreational, or leisure activities, as well as shows, conferences, and discovery workshops.
We are looking for someone who would like to work with seniors experiencing mild loss of autonomy, providing them with moments of relaxation and enjoyment.
Schedule: Full-time, daytime, with occasional evenings and weekends.
Salary: $25/hour


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the different departments of the residence to make things easier for everyone
  • Disseminate the activities calendar to residents
Recreation
  • Animate and oversee supervision during the activities
  • Decorating the premises for special events
  • Manage the logistics pertaining to the activities
  • Plan the activities calendar
  • Promote activities related to the residents
  • Regularly validate that activities correspond to the needs and desires of the residents and collaborate with the different departments of the residence to facilitate tasks
  • Welcome the residents and invite them to participate in the activities
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Collect degree in recreation (DEC) or other related field
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (an asset)
  • Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
  • Experience in managing activities related to older people (an asset)
