Job Summary/Description:

WRDW-WAGT (Augusta, GA) - is hiring a Sports Director who can bring fun swagger on camera, tell unforgettable local sports stories, and make sports memorable for fans and those who "don't watch sports."

Duties would include (but not be limited to) the following:

- Run point on WRDW-WAGT Sports coverage across TV, streaming, and social - and make it feel fresh, local, and can't miss.
- Anchor and produce nightly sportscasts.
- Own the live shot: deliver breaking and planned coverage with energy, control, and personality.
- Generate unscripted streaming content -- with quick thinking, broad & deep sports knowledge, real reactions, and clear storytelling.
- Enterprise hyper-local stories beyond the scoreboard - Little League heroes, weekend warriors, high school stars, and legends-in-the-making.
- Build coverage plans and lead efforts on bigger projects/specials.
- Shoot and edit using broadcast cameras and editing equipment. Knowledge of ENPS is a plus.
- Write sharp, creative, conversational scripts and digital copy for every platform.
- Collaborate with newsroom leaders to keep coverage engaging, timely, and the content that recruits viewers.
- Show up in the community, build relationships, and represent the station professionally - in actions and appearance.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a TV Sports Director or Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ (required).
- On-camera communication skills, presence, energy, and an ability to hook the viewer who "doesn't watch sports."
- Strong studio anchoring, live reporting, and comfort with unscripted/streaming formats.
- Visual storyteller with the ability to plan, shoot, write, and edit compelling stories.
- Proven ability to enterprise local sports overage and local sportscasts.
- Ability and desire to plan, execute, and lead both day-to-day sports coverage and larger, multi-element projects.
