Job description

Duties

Helps designs and implements leisure-time activities in the areas of individual and team sports, and promotes maximum involvement of institution inmates in recreation activities and services through the establishment of leagues, tournaments, etc. Plans the institution's sports program, to include intramural sports programs and tournaments, as well as additional activities made possible through available resources. Develops, improvises, and adapts the various recreational activities to the wide range of participant interests and needs, and must meet the limitation of funds, facilities, equipment, and volunteer and other staff support available. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
