These skills are crucial for maximizing profits, ensuring authenticity, and maintaining a reputable position in the competitive sports card market.

What does a sports card collector do?

Sports card collectors are individuals who collect trading cards featuring athletes from various sports, such as baseball, basketball, football, and more. These collectors often seek cards for their rarity, historical significance, or personal value, and may trade, buy, or sell cards to build their collections. Collectors also grade and preserve cards to maintain their condition and value. Many participate in online forums, attend card shows, and follow market trends to stay informed about the hobby.

  • Comfortable speaking in front of a live audience and being on camera.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High-energy, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Preferred

  • Sports card or collectibles knowledge.
  • Live streaming or content creation experience.
  • Sales or customer service experience.
  • Hospitality or bartending experience.
  • Broadcasting, acting, public speaking, or entertainment experience.
  • Coaching or competitive athletics.
  • Experience creating content on TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, or similar platforms.

Schedule

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Evening and weekend availability is required.
  • Must be available to work second and third shifts.
  • Must be willing to work from our Plano, Dallas, and Denton locations.
  • This is an in-person position. Remote work is not available.

Compensation & Growth

  • Starting at $20+/hour, based on experience.
  • Paid training.
  • Opportunities for advancement as Waxxed Sports continues to grow.

Former athletes, coaches, sales professionals, bartenders, performers, content creators, and sports enthusiasts are encouraged to apply.
