Job description

Our Intern program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization's success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.

Intern Expectations:

All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.

Important Dates:

Our Fall Program runs from Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026.

Office Hours: 

  • 9:00 am6:00 PM CT, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor's schedules.

Our Interns must:

  • Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
  • Be available to report to the Chicago office approximately 3-days a week.
  • Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)

OR

  • Be enrolled in a graduate school

OR

  • Have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.

Interview Process: 

  • Applications will close on August 14th, 2026
  • If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid to late August.
  • The program will begin on September 14th, 2026.

Divisions Role Objectives and Expectations:

As an Excel Analytics associate, you will contribute to the evaluation and analysis of sports sponsorship opportunities and assist in determining the value and impact of sponsorships within the sports industry. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in sports analytics, specifically focusing on the valuation of sponsorships and partnerships. You will work closely with a team of professionals passionate about optimizing sponsorship strategies and maximizing return on investment for organizations and its partners.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in statistical/quantitative analysis, business analytics, information systems, business, finance, economics, sports management, or a related field. Recent graduates may also be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for utilizing data to drive business decisions and financial evaluations.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Familiarity with database structures and querying syntax e.g.SQL, with working knowledge of Python, R, and GenAI a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience or interest in database management and data organization.
  • Passion for sports and a basic understanding of the sports industry and sponsorship landscape is preferred.
  • Prior experience or coursework in sports analytics, sponsorship valuation, or related fields is a plus.
