Server Side Developers are responsible for server-side development of next generation products and services. The role handles all the development tasks of building services, system interfaces, and/or user interfaces

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the technical / systems analysis, design, development, unit testing, system integration testing, implementation and support of software applications, using existing and emerging technology platforms. Role includes custodian of the established architecture assuring that documented standards and procedures are adhered to and ensure the smooth interpretability of the applications. 
  • Collaborating with IT Platform Management, work with the business/BSA to obtain the necessary clarity of the requirements at a function point context. Work with project managers, sponsors and other stakeholders to develop and plan technical strategies, agree upon project priorities and deliver applications that support business requirements. Work with the front end developers, server-side developers and tech lead to design and build API services. Also responsible for the Systems integration testing of applications prior to code release to Quality Assurance. 
  • Responsible for writing new systems of moderate complexity, working with basic application designs and specifications, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.
  • Lead and Coordinate the development of design requirements, designs, unit and system integration tests, perform code reviews, document and implements systems and programs.
  • Provides application and user support, troubleshooting, application testing, system integration testing and post-implementation review of new/changed applications. Reviews release notes and other relevant documentation.  
  • Applications Development professionals are responsible for working with their managers to assure their own continuing professional development for both technical and soft skills and that of their teams.  At the more senior levels, application developers are expected to train others, participate in company and industry working groups, and encourage learning, sharing culture that supports development of innovative and effective business solutions. 
  • Applications Development professionals will develop a thorough understanding of the businesses they support along with well-developed people and project management skills. They may apply these skills either within a narrow business focus or broadly across the firm.


What you bring:

  • A university degree in computer science or equivalent education
  • 4-6 years of experience using Java/J2EE, Rest/Soap Web services, Spring framework and Spring Boot, Kafka, Git, Maven, Nexus, Bitbucket, Artifactory,
  • 4-6 years of experience with Databases for both relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, Postgres)
  • Understanding of Docker, Play/Akka, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Azure, Jenkins, Nginx, and Unix preferred
  • Experience in creating prototype designs for a product very rapidly with a wide range of techniques.
  • Experience with Agile tools and Methodologies (e,g - Atlassian suite)
  • Understanding and knowledge with utilizing/implementing operational tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Strong organizational and estimation skills
  • Operates with minimal supervision and performs moderate to difficult technical tasks independently
  • Excellent Team Player and acts as mentor in own area
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Has functional knowledge of multiple applications
  • Incorporates risk planning and mitigation into work efforts.   
  • Proven experience facilitating collaborative processes

  • Good presentation skills to be able to present during demo sessions
  • understanding of entire development cycle, from concept to deployment and monitoring is a bonus
