Senior Full Stack Developer ( DevOps + Security)

Toronto ON ( 3-4 days Hybrid) - Downtown

Contract & Fulltime


The opportunity:

· Applying secure-coding best practices to existing services, refactoring risky patterns, and improving logging, observability, and incident readiness.

· Using modern DevOps tooling such as GitHub, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms to automate deployments and reduce manual, repetitive work.

· Collaborating with security SMEs to understand threat models, prioritize remediation work, and translate security findings into clean, maintainable code.

· Designing and building new backend capabilities and APIs that extend and modernize the platform.

· Participating in design discussions, contributing to technical decisions, and helping shape the next generation of backend services.

· Pair-programming and doing code reviews with other senior engineers to share knowledge, improve quality, and continuously raise the engineering bar.

· Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve engineering efficiency, and support code quality across the development lifecycle.

· Working closely with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.


What you need:

· Total experience: 5 years+

· Strong backend expertise with Java or Node.js.

· Experience building RESTful APIs and working with Open API specifications.

· Intermediate to advanced experience with Angular (React is a plus).

· 2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OpenShift.

· Strong working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.

· Expert-level Git skills, including branching, merging, and code reviews.

· Experience translating Figma designs into production-ready UI.

· Hands-on experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.

· DevOps & Automation

· Proven experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline design.

· Strong focus on automated unit, functional, and performance testing.

· Experience integrating intelligent agents into CI/CD pipelines to automate reviews, testing, or deployments.

· Security and DevSecOps

· Familiarity with application security practices and secure coding standards.

· Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tools.

· Exposure to integrating security gates within CI/CD pipelines (shift-left security / DevSecOps).
