Sploot information

Why are so many veterinarians quitting?

Veterinarians often leave the profession due to high stress, long working hours, emotional burnout, and administrative burdens. The demanding nature of the job, combined with relatively low pay compared to workload, contributes to high turnover rates in the field.

What are Sploots?

A 'sploot' refers to a cute and relaxed pose where an animal, commonly dogs or cats, lays flat on their belly with their hind legs stretched out behind them. The term has become popular on social media due to its adorable appearance and is often associated with certain breeds, like Corgis and French Bulldogs. While it's generally harmless, frequent splooting can sometimes indicate joint flexibility or comfort, but rarely, it may signal joint issues if accompanied by other symptoms. Sploots are usually nothing to worry about and are simply a sign your pet is feeling comfortable and relaxed!

What is the highest paid veterinarian position?

The highest paid veterinarian positions are typically specialized roles such as veterinary surgeons, especially those working in private practice or academia with advanced certifications and extensive experience. These roles often require additional training, board certification, and may involve leadership or research responsibilities, leading to higher salaries within the veterinary field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Sploot, and why are they important?

I'm sorry, but 'Sploot' is not recognized as a real-world professional occupation, so I cannot generate a response for this job title.

Are Sploot vets good?

The quality of care depends on the individual veterinarian’s experience, training, and clinic standards. It is advisable to review client feedback and verify credentials when assessing their suitability for your pet's needs.

Job description

Talent Marketing Specialist
Sploot Veterinary Care is on a mission to transform the veterinary care experience for pets, pet parents, and veterinary teams alike. By providing high-quality, seamless care - whether routine or urgent - Sploot ensures pets get the care they need and pet parents get peace of mind.
As we grow, attracting and engaging top veterinary talent is crucial to our success. We're looking for a creative, driven Talent Marketing Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team and help tell the Sploot story to the people we most want to hire, and to celebrate and strengthen the culture for the team members already with us.
You'll be the voice and lens behind Sploot's employer brand - visiting clinics, capturing real moments, and publishing content that attracts talented veterinary professionals. You'll also help bring our internal culture to life, from appreciation events to the everyday moments that make Sploot a place people love to work at.
You'll join our Talent Acquisition team and collaborate closely with recruiters, marketing, and clinic teams across Colorado, Illinois, and Utah. This is an in-office position based in Denver.
What You'll Do as a Talent Marketing Specialist:
  • Social Media Strategy: Own and manage Sploot's employer-facing social presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms - building a consistent, engaging content calendar that speaks to veterinary professionals
  • Content Creation: Own the full content lifecycle - traveling to clinics to capture authentic behind-the-scenes moments, editing and producing polished video and photo content, and writing compelling copy for social posts, employee spotlights, and job postings that reflect Sploot's warm, approachable brand voice
  • Culture & Internal Engagement: Plan and coordinate appreciation weeks, holiday events, and other team-wide celebrations that honor the hard work of our veterinary professionals. Partner with vendors and internal teams to develop swag and branded materials that build team pride and make Sploot feel like a place people belong
  • Lead Nurturing: Support email and social campaigns that engage prospective candidates throughout the hiring funnel - from awareness through application
  • Hiring Event Planning & Execution: Lead the planning and execution of recruiting events in partnership with the TA team - managing event-specific messaging, invitations, promotional materials, and on-site content capture
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track engagement metrics and campaign performance, surfacing insights and recommendations to TA leadership on a regular basis
  • Trend Awareness: Stay current on social media and employer branding trends, proactively bringing new ideas to the team

Who You Are:
  • Passionate about animals, workplace culture, and the idea of helping build a veterinary team that genuinely loves where they work
  • Energized by the talent acquisition world - you understand how employer brand and recruiting work together, and you're excited to be part of that engine
  • A natural storyteller who knows how to turn everyday moments into content people actually want to engage with
  • Comfortable behind a camera - you can walk into a clinic, build quick rapport with the team, and capture genuine, authentic content
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for visual consistency and brand alignment
  • A self-starter who can manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing momentum
  • Collaborative and personable - you work well across teams and can build trust with clinic staff and TA colleagues alike
  • Adaptable and curious - you thrive in a fast-growing environment and are always looking for ways to improve

What Really Catches Our Eye
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media content creation, employer branding, recruitment marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience capturing and editing video and photo content - you know your way around editing tools and aren't afraid to pick up a camera
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to flex your tone across platforms and audiences
  • Proven track record managing a social media presence with measurable engagement results
  • Experience with design tools like Canva or Adobe Suite to create visually compelling materials
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Greenhouse, Braze, or similar) is a plus
  • Data-driven mindset - you can analyze what's working, explain why, and adjust accordingly
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Media, or a related field - or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Bonus: experience in the veterinary, healthcare, or pet care industry

Perks of the Pack:
  • Competitive base salary: $75,000 to $90,000
  • 401(k) Retirement with 4% company match
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance fully covered by Sploot
  • Generous pet care benefits for your fur babies
  • Up to 4 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 10 HQ recognized holidays
  • Up to 12 weeks paid parental leave
  • Dog-friendly HQ office
  • Lots of Sploot swag - what can we say? Our logo looks really cool on stuff!

Sploot is an equal opportunity employer and practices continuous hiring in accordance with Colorado state law. We welcome applications year-round and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
