Security Officer Level III - Dollywood's Splash Country - Seasonal

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day across all properties; all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. We are seeking a Security Officer Level III who will embody the heart and soul of our mission of creating memories worth repeating while bringing families closer together and caring deeply about our brand. This person also brings a spirit of fun, authenticity, collaboration, creativity and genuine hospitality to the lives of our guests.

We want to work alongside someone who acts as an extension of our mission, values, and culture. This individual is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of our unique offerings. The right Security Officer Level III will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.

This Role exists to protect people and property, maintain a peaceful, fun filled and safe atmosphere, and enforce Security procedures at Dollywood's Splash Country while Creating Memories Worth Repeating for our guests.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assist with wild animal control and monitoring during shift, abiding by Safety policies and procedures
  • Assist Guests and Hosts with vehicle problems
  • Assist in transport and escorting of Host transporting company funds
  • Assist the Safety-First Aid Department as assigned
  • Assist with fire and flood prevention
  • Must reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring by taking pride in work
  • Assist with controlling and directing traffic flow for Hosts and Guests on company property
  • Control park access at Host and service entrances
  • Crowd control
  • Assist Guests with directions and general information
  • Participate in parking control procedures, monitoring Host vehicles and issuing citations for inappropriately parked vehicles
  • Monitor Security systems including Fire Suppression and Park alarm systems
  • Patrol buildings
  • Patrol Guest and Host parking lots
  • Provide Dignitary Protection Services for visiting celebrities
  • Respond to calls for service regarding unruly Guests/Hosts
  • Respond to calls for service, i.e., shoplifting, burglary and theft
  • Assist with lost Guest calls, working to reunite separated parties
  • Take possession of lost property and returning same to Lost & Found

Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time

Education and Experience Required

  • Able to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for the rights of others.
  • At least one year of experience working successfully in a similar role. Preference will be given to candidates with prior Law Enforcement or Security related experience
  • Must be able to meet the qualifications to be certified as a Security Officer by the State of Tennessee, licensed by the Department of Commerce & Insurance Private Protection Services as prescribed by the Tennessee Code Annotated 62-35 Act of 1922 (See attachments TCA 62-35-116, TCA 62-35-117)
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Ability to develop skill in the use and care of firearms
  • Must possess valid Tennessee driver's license and have state required auto insurance
  • First Aid and C.P.R. certification required or ability to obtain a certification in a timely manner
  • Must be willing and able to pass First Responder Course and apply material when needed
  • Must be able to meet the same requirements as a police officer for the State of Tennessee
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a credit check
  • Must not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor and other alcoholic beverages or controlled substances.
  • Must not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States
  • Must have fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation
  • Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician
  • Must have good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the employing agency; and/or the POST Commission
  • Must be certified by a Tennessee Licensed Health Care Provider qualified in the psychiatric or psychological fields as being free from any impairment, as set forth in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association at the time of the examination that would, in the professional judgement of the examiner, affect the person's ability to perform an essential function of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Applications

  • Able to work comfortably at heights up to 60 ft utilizing approved safety equipment, abiding by safety policies and procedures

  • Able to pass a pre-hire drug screen and random or for cause drug screens as directed by the Company
  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
  • Able to have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties
