The Downtown Campus Pastor serves as strategic leader and spiritual shepherd of Ecclesia's Downtown location - a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational community at the heart of Houston. Rooted in Ecclesia's identity as a multidenominational family, the Campus Pastor cultivates rhythms of worship, discipleship, and service that embody the values of hospitality, formation, and compassion for the most vulnerable in our city.


Core Responsibilities

Leadership Development & Integration

  • Recruit, disciple, and develop staff and community leaders across ministry areas.
  • Integrate the work of the central ministry team (Worship & Gatherings, Family Ministry, Spiritual Formation, Outreach) into a unified vision for the campus.
  • Lead with hope, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit that strengthens the broader church family.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Collaborate with Ecclesia's outreach team to mobilize the congregation in serving Houston's most vulnerable populations.
  • Steward the daily use of Paper Co. coffee shop as a hub for hospitality and mission.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations, amplifying Ecclesia's presence in the city.

Sunday Gatherings & Worship Integration

  • Provide visible leadership in gatherings through roles such as welcome, communion, prayer, and invitations.
  • Partner with the Teaching & Gathering Team to cultivate gatherings that are theologically aligned and aligned to the mission of Ecclesia.
  • We seek for every facet of our Sunday gatherings-hospitality, music, children, students, formation, and outreach-to come together as a holistic act of worship, embodying the Gospel and ushering in the Kingdom of God through the power of the Spirit and the way of Jesus.

Discipleship & Formation

  • Equip and empower leaders for small groups, classes, and formation pathways.
  • Foster growth in service, spiritual practices, and everyday discipleship.

Community Leadership & Pastoral Care

  • Shepherd the Downtown congregation through presence, prayer, counseling, hospital visits, weddings, funerals, and other pastoral care moments.
  • Nurture a culture of belonging, spiritual growth, and relational health.
  • Engage with individuals and families throughout the week, extending the care of the church beyond Sunday gatherings.
