Job Title: Registered Nurse – Home Therapies Location: Los Angeles Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

Spectrum Dialysis is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Home Therapies team in California. This role focuses on providing high-quality dialysis care to patients in a home-based chronic outpatient setting, including both home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of recent experience in nephrology and dialysis, and will be responsible for training patients and caregivers, monitoring treatment outcomes, and ensuring compliance with clinical and safety standards.

Qualifications

Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in chronic outpatient dialysis (required)

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current California RN license (required)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required)

Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a home setting

Proficiency in dialysis machine setup, treatment initiation/termination, and patient monitoring

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Home Therapy Patient Care

Train patients and caregivers on home dialysis procedures, including equipment use, infection control, and emergency protocols

Monitor patient progress and treatment outcomes through regular assessments and follow-ups

Manage vascular access care and respond to complications appropriately

Administer medications and document accurately

Interpret lab results and adjust care plans in collaboration with physicians

Provide education on nutrition, fluid management, and medication adherence

Maintain accurate treatment logs and medication records

Clinical and Operational Support

Perform initial nursing assessments for new home therapy patients

Ensure dialysis equipment is functioning properly and safely

Conduct home visits as needed to assess treatment environment and patient technique

Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate delivery for home patients

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning

Supervise and support dialysis technicians involved in home therapy programs

Uphold infection control standards and universal precautions at all times

Professionalism and Compliance

Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information

Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or non-compliance promptly

Support and enforce clinic policies for staff, patients, and visitors

Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in all patient interactions
