Job description

Position title: Logistics Project Manager

Location: Hawaii

Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide technical expertise and assist NSWG8/LOGSU8 in developing and testing processes and systems to continue developing alternate transportation methods to increase logistical deployment capabilities. Provide continuing evaluation and recommendations concerning capabilities and procedures for NSWG8/LOGSU8.
  • Provide logistics expertise and assist in testing specific transportation methods to increase deployment options.
  • Manage planning and execution of alternative transportation methods to increase platform deployment options.
  • Provide technical insight and identify areas requiring increased technical rigor to ensure compliance with all DoD requirements, authorities, regulations, and policies.
  • Identify actual and potential problem areas, including operational security, and recommend corrective action by ensuring the application of sound logistical practices.
  • Recommend short-term and long-term recommendations for research, equipment acquisition, logistics testing, and infrastructure rental required to increase logistical capability deployment options.
  • Provide a qualitative evaluation of a range of options for alternative transportation methods.
  • Develop a training plan for NSWG8/LOGSU8 team members to enhance logistical deployment capabilities.
  • Teach, mentor, and professionally develop NSWG8/LOGSU8 team members to enhance logistical deployment capabilities.
  • Continually maintain a record of lessons learned, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc. of project material regarding logistical deployment capabilities.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and inventories on NSWG8/LSWG8 logistics equipment.
  • Maintain a current U.S. passport and be available for frequent emergent CONUS and OCONUS travel.
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding, and relevant experience in Naval Special Warfare.
  • Knowledge of team building skills.
  • Ability to manage resources, establish goals, and meet targeted objectives.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DoD regulations and sound business practices concerning construction contract administration.
  • Ability to evaluate, review, and analyze projects or project segments in terms of effective attainment of scheduled objectives and milestones, utilization of funds, delays, slippages, overruns, and resolution of problems. Extensive knowledge gained through experience with the technical and managerial challenges associated with complex logistics movements.
  • Extensive knowledge and skill in oral and written communications, as well as an in-depth operating knowledge of qualitative and quantitative analytical processes.
  • Apply new developments and experienced judgment to solve a variety of highly complex logistical problems on behalf of DoD.
  • Exercise considerable creativity in developing new theories dealing with logistical issues of considerable complexity involving issues that cross the entire spectrum of operations.
  • Beyond the above requirements, candidate must have a minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience supporting Naval Special Warfare SEAL Delivery Vehicle One (SDVT-1) and Logistics Support Unit Eight (LOGSU-8) to include directly supporting operations.
