SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician supports daily building operations across a multi-structure campus environment. This position ensures building systems, preventative maintenance programs, safety standards, and vendor activities run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with site leadership, this role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, compliant, and fully operational workplace while delivering excellent internal customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with site leadership to support execution of facility management plans and operational objectives.
• Oversee building systems and mechanical maintenance programs, ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are tracked, documented, and completed consistently.
• Supervise outside contractors and service providers, confirming quality of work, safety compliance, and adherence to scope requirements.
• Complete routine light maintenance tasks including lighting replacements, filter changes, and replenishment of shared facility supplies.
• Conduct recurring inspections of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency showers, signage, and designated utility areas; document findings and support corrective measures.
• Manage and prioritize work orders, scheduling requests to meet stakeholder needs efficiently.
• Lead regular maintenance coordination meetings with internal contacts to review open items and upcoming facility initiatives.
• Respond to facility-related emergencies and assist with building security protocols when needed.
• Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, including regulated or hazardous materials, ensuring accurate logging, safe handling, and proper notification of recipients.
• Assist with office relocations, furniture moves, and departmental space adjustments.
• Prepare routine operational reports and monitor key facility performance indicators.
• Promote quality by reviewing completed work, identifying improvement opportunities, and incorporating feedback into processes.
• Participate in required safety training and meetings while proactively identifying and reporting potential hazards.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification, technical training, or associate degree in a building systems–related discipline preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in facilities support, building maintenance, or related technical role.
• Working knowledge of HVAC and general building systems operations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with enterprise maintenance or ERP systems preferred.
• Hands-on experience using both powered and manual maintenance tools.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders up to 10 feet, and perform physical activities such as bending, walking, climbing, and reaching.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
