In our business of manufacturing superconducting wire, our Chemical Cleaning Technicians are responsible for performing a variety of jobs relating to the preparation of chemical batches as well as the chemical etch cleaning of a variety of components used in making superconducting wire. Successful candidates must be able to closely follow written work instructions and complete manufacturing process documentation.  

At Bruker OST we put safety first, and we are proud of our ISO 45001 occupational health and safety international certification.  We have a thorough training program for new hires.  As the job duties require working with hazardous chemicals, including acid based products , employees are required and must be comfortable wearing - a full protective Tyvek suit, safety glasses, a splash face shield, and gloves. Technicians in this position are responsible for maintaining the highest safety and quality standards when performing any task.

Please note this is a 1st shift position with working hours from 7AM to 3:30PM  Monday-Friday.    

Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety regulations as stated in the OST Safety Manual.
  • Proficiently use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • Assisting in the assembly of etch cleaned parts in a clean room
  • Assist in development and revision of etch cleaning procedures as needed
  • Maintain well organized manufacturing paperwork
  • Support and help improve our Lean manufacturing practices
  • Work comfortably as part of a team on some tasks, and work comfortably with minimal supervision at other times
  • Working overtime as the production schedule requires

 

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience working with chemicals in a laboratory manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency to communicate in English including reading and writing skills. 
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures and calibrated equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features and equipment.
  • Need to be capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Working safely with 55-gallon drum quantities of acids and chemicals in a manufacturing environment
  • Utilizing good math skills to keep track of chemical mixing and etch cleaning processes
  • Be familiar with risks associated with hazardous chemicals and how to work safely with same
  • Must be Permanent Resident or US Citizen, sponsorship is not available for this role.    
  • Have reliable transporation to the site.     

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated hourly range for this full-time position is between $18.00 and $25.00/hr and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. Please note this position is eligible for Overtime compensation.  The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
