      Sports Coordinator

      The Sports Coordinators are responsible for organizing, managing, and promoting sports programs, leagues, sports tournaments and other recreational activities sponsored by Williamsport Lumber Yards. This role helps strengthen community relationships, supports employee engagement, and ensures all programs run efficiently and safely. The Sports Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director and/or the Manager on Duty.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities


      • Ensure rosters and player identification match registration documents

      • Ensure all players have paid prior to participation

      • Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests

      • Resolve guest complaints with or without the assistance of supervisory personnel

      • Monitor and limit access to player and spectator areas to those authorized

      • Ensure games areas are properly configured prior to the commencement of play

      • Ensure games begin and conclude on time

      • Respond to any unusual circumstances (e.g. accidents, injuries, altercations, etc.)

      • Ensure Manager on Duty is aware of progress/status of play and unusual circumstances

      • Monitor event areas for unusual activity

      • Act as scorekeeper as required

      • Observe referees and game play to help shape parity and quality of leagues

      • Complete end-of-shift reports in accordance with property standard procedures

      • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by supervisory personnel (Sports Director, Manager on Duty, etc.) and/or the General Manager

      Requirements

      • Demonstrated leadership ability

      • Must be at least 18 years of age

      • Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hiring

      • Display strong verbal communication skills

      • Display professionalism in appearance and interaction with guests

      • Detail oriented and possess outstanding organizational skills

      • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

      • Ability to work in difficult and stressful environments

      • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

      • Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations

      • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary

      Qualifications

      Education and/or Experience: No prior experience or training is required. Experience managing large groups of people or de-escalating emotionally charged situations is highly preferred.

      Language Skills: Ability to communicate with guests/participants in English. Other language skills are desirable.

      Mathematical Skills: No math skills higher than basic addition and subtraction is required.

      Computer Skills: Use of a windows-based workstation and associated property-specific software for the management of leagues and/or tournaments is required.
