Job Overview:

Pay Range: $18.20hr - $21.31hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
  • Ability to work nightshift, weekends, holidays, on call, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to learn and understand specimen types related to ordered tests.
  • Ability to learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department including A-station and presort.
  • Handle pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
  • Perform imaging, microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting of specimens.
  • Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner.
  • Work in a biohazard environment while practicing established safety habits.
  • Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Adapt to daily changes in workflow and customer demands.

Nice to Have:

  • Preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
