The Medical Technologist-Molecular is responsible for analyzing samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. This role requires a deep understanding of medical laboratory procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
** Molecular Medical Technologist Include but are not Limited to the Following:**
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests on patient samples using automated and manual methods, including nucleic acid isolation, microarrays, PCR, qPCR, and NGS.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as extractions, library and control preparation, reagent preparation, plating to 96 or 384 well plates, data analysis, inventory management, proficiency testing, and quality control measures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance on instruments such as KingFisher, Hamilton MicroLab Star, MiSeq, Agilent Bravo, and others.
- Adherence and understanding of laboratory SOPs and processes surrounding specimen processing, results generation, laboratory safety, and all other policies and procedures to safeguard integrity of laboratory results.
- Maintain accurate record keeping utilizing Good Documentation Practices for daily quality control and corrective action for any laboratory protocol deviations.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Assist in the training and supervision of laboratory assistants and other staff members.

Qualifications
** _Basic Minimum Education Qualifications _:__**
- Bachelor of science degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- ASCP, AMT, AAB, or equivalent certification ideal.
** _Basic Minimum Work Requirements _:__**
- Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience
- Minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Proficient laboratory skills such as use of micropipettes, multichannel pipettes, performing dilutions, and appropriate safety measures when handling samples and reagents.
- Current knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards including CAP, CLIA, FDA, OSHA.
- This position acts as testing personnel performing high complexity testing as per CAP and CLIA and the employee must fulfill all requirements for these positions.
- Experience with molecular, molecular microbiology, and/or genetics in a clinical laboratory setting, preferred
- Experience with Thermo KingFisher and QuantStudio, Hamilton MicroLab STAR, Illumina MiSeq and iSCAN, Agilent Bravo, Tecan Freedom EVO, preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
