What is the difference between Special Master vs Arbitrator?
| Aspect | Special Master | Arbitrator |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Legal background, often attorneys or retired judges | Legal background, attorneys or industry experts |
| Work Environment | Courts, legal proceedings, complex cases | Private arbitration hearings, dispute resolution |

Arbitrators, on the other hand, are private dispute resolution professionals who facilitate arbitration hearings outside the court system. Both roles involve legal knowledge, but Special Masters are more court-centric, while Arbitrators operate in private arbitration contexts.
