Job description

Important!  Effective immediately, Flagler College students are only permitted to have two (2) active work study assignments.

This position works directly with the Associate Director of Event Technology and the Multimedia Event Technician to support technology and educational media equipment and/or events at the college.

Student worker positions provide valuable on-campus employment opportunities that support departments while helping students develop professional skills. These roles are intended to enhance the student experience through meaningful work aligned with academic and career interests.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be available nights, weekends, and breaks to assist in person on event days; dates are pre-scheduled.
Characteristics Preferred
  • The ideal candidate is adaptable and ready to "jump in" wherever needed during events, approaching every task with a customer service mindset and positive attitude. They should be eager to learn new skills, take on a variety of responsibilities, and demonstrate reliability in delivering high-quality work. Strong attention to detail, professionalism in interactions, and a willingness to support the team in fast-paced situations are essential for success in this role.
Preferred Qualification
  • Basic knowledge or interest in audio, visual, or lighting technology.

  • Familiarity with use of Adobe and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Knowledge of Zoom applications such as zoom meetings, webinars, breakout room.
  • Knowledge of software between Apple and Window computers.
Physical Requirement
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up 75 lbs. 
  • Ability to reach overhead to lift and position materials up to 50 lb.
  • Able to work in environments that may require climbing tall ladders, kneeling, or maneuvering equipment in tight or elevated spaces in proximity to loud equipment.
  • Perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying equipment for extended periods.
    Essential Functions
    • Performs basic office work such as filing, creation of materials, and assisting with keeping accurate inventory of equipment.
    • Perform quality customer service experiences for guests and be the primary liaison between rental group and Flagler College.
    • Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
    • Assist with the set-up and operation or sound, lighting and visual needs of all public and private non-academic events on campus as assigned.
    • Performs duties as may be assigned by the Director of Special Events or Associate Director of Event Technology.
    • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printers, webcams, scanners, etc.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding topics discussed in the office.
    • Responds to unanticipated situations and shift priorities at a moments notice in a fast paced office environment remaining calm in challenging situations.
    • Ability to be trained and become sufficient in the following event related software programs; Social Tables, SchoolDude, etc.
