Job Description:
Note: Candidates must be available for shifts beginning as early as 3:30pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
As a server assistant at Next Door by Wegmans, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service by supporting the front of house team. You'll ensure seamless communication between the kitchen and servers, helping deliver orders promptly while maintaining food quality. By assisting servers and expediters, you'll help create a flawless dining experience, ensuring every guest leaves with a reason to return.
What You'll Do
  • Assist server team as necessary to ensure guest needs are being met and servers can focus their time on interacting with guests
  • Deliver dishes to the guests' tables with a sensitivity to time and an understanding of the importance of maintaining the integrity of the food
  • Ensure a positive guest experience by maintaining tables and serving guests in an attentive and efficient manner
  • Prepare the dining room and bars for service with exceptional attention to detail; ensure all areas are clean, organized and well-stocked
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of the work being done by the front and back of house teams to provide proactive assistance
  • Execute in-depth cleaning and sanitation of restaurant facility
  • Continue to expand food and beverage knowledge by studying menu changes and attending beverage classes
  • Learn about special events and general restaurant operations

Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months service experience in a restaurant or other service industry setting
  • Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services

Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience in the hospitality industry

This is a tipped position. Pay is the NYS minimum for tipped employees ($10.70/hr. plus $5.30/hr. tip credit when applicable) plus tips.
