Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Legal Assistant is an essential point of contact between the Firm and any subsequent attorneys. They will provide administrative and secretarial support to assigned attorneys to enhance their ability to practice.  The Legal Assistant assists with administrative tasks as it relates to the specific office and attorneys.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Ability to handle pressure, interruptions,and multiple projects withfrequentlychanging priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work as part of a team, as well as to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare demand letters.
  • Perform administrative duties, including proofreading and editing all materials for extreme accuracy and clarity.
  • E-filing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of legal documents and terminology.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Full-time,8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, M-F.
  • Associate Degree or 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Legal experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
