Job description

Comprehensive management of construction projects from estimating/bidding to close out which includes but is not limited to:

  • Seek out projects to bid
  • Business Development
  • Attend pre-bid meetings
  • Estimating
  • Planning and execution of projects from start to finish safely, efficiently and profitably
  • Managing our own staff/trade crews
  • Self-performing and mentoring junior staff in the trades you are skilled in
  • Managing subcontractors
  • Preparation of CPM schedules
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Thoroughly familiar with CSI Specifications Divisions
  • Prepare Change Orders
  • Find suppliers and subcontractors, obtain pricing prior to bidding
  • Reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications

Requirements:

  • Estimating
  • Ability to perform field work including manual labor, skilled labor and equipment operation as necessary to ensure successful execution of projects
  • 10 years of experience in construction in the Baltimore-DC area
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • Trade Experience in either demolition, concrete, earthwork, utilities, structural steel or masonry
  • List of subcontractors used in your past experience
  • Self-perform take-offs even for subcontracted trades using take-off software

Preferences:

  • 5 years hands-on experience in a trade (preferably earthwork, utilities, concrete, masonry or structural steel)
  • Speaks Spanish
  • 10 years local experience in the Baltimore-DC area
