Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Reports To: Spanish Church Senior Pastor
Location: Redemption Church, San Jose CA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt
SCHEDULE: In-person
Sundays 12pm-5pm
Monday through Thursday 9am-6pm
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Senior Pastor of the Spanish Church at Redemption. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the Spanish ministry operates with excellence, organization, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, bilingual, and passionate about serving in a ministry environment while upholding the mission, values, and standards of Redemption Church.
All duties must be performed in alignment with Redemption Church's policies, procedures, and ministry standards, maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity at all times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute church events within the pastor's vision, including special events, conferences, discipleships, pastoral meetings, youth services, baby dedications, and baptisms.
  • Oversee internal operations for events, budgeting, and contracted labor in accordance with church policies and approved procedures.
  • Create and implement marketing campaigns for upcoming events and Sunday services.
  • Develop and distribute monthly newsletters to congregants, along with text and email communications to leads and visitors.
  • Manage logistics and scheduling for 60-100 volunteers during events and Sunday services, including building and supporting a volunteer leadership structure for ongoing operations.
  • Track and analyze church metrics for senior leadership, including attendance, guest follow-up, and volunteer engagement.
  • Maintain internal systems for tracking first-time guests, volunteer participation, and overall ministry metrics.
  • Ensure event and ministry budgets remain aligned with financial policies and approval guidelines.
  • Serve as liaison between the pastor, ministry team leads, and church staff, facilitating clear communication and coordination.
  • Manage and order supplies and materials required for Sunday services and church events.
  • Provide onsite administrative and logistical support during Sunday services and church events.
  • Handle and prioritize incoming correspondence, calls, and requests on behalf of the pastor, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Consistently uphold and model Redemption Church's values, policies, and procedures in all ministry and administrative activities.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and oral.
  • Proven experience in an administrative role or supporting senior-level leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and church management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently under general supervision.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with or as part of ministry teams.
  • Experience managing large teams of volunteers.
  • Familiarity with church operational structures and event coordination.
