Accounting Supervisor – Bilingual English/Spanish


Location: Miami, FL
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – In-Person and Remote

About the Position

Tax House Miami is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Supervisor to lead and support our accounting department. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and has hands-on experience with bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and tax preparation.

We are looking for an energetic, positive, and dependable professional who takes initiative, works independently, and knows how to lead and train a team. This position requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with clients, and able to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support accounting and bookkeeping employees.
  • Train new and existing team members on accounting procedures, company standards, and software.
  • Review employee work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Manage bookkeeping for multiple business clients.
  • Process payroll and prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Review general ledgers and correct accounting discrepancies.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with individual and business tax return preparation.
  • Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish.
  • Follow up with clients regarding missing documents, outstanding questions, and service requests.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure client work is completed on time.
  • Identify problems and take initiative to develop practical solutions.
  • Help improve departmental procedures, organization, workflow, and customer service.
  • Work closely with management and provide regular updates on the department’s progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information professionally.


Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
  • Experience supervising, leading, or training employees.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles.
  • Hands-on payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience.
  • Experience preparing and filing sales tax returns.
  • Experience with individual and/or business tax preparation.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Must be dependable, proactive, professional, and accountable.
  • Must be available to work both remotely and in person in the Miami, Florida area.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a tax, accounting, or professional services firm.
  • Experience preparing Forms 1040, 1120S, 1120, and 1065.
  • Experience using Drake Tax, TaxDome, or similar tax and client-management software.
  • Experience managing multiple business clients at the same time.
