Position Overview


Infinity is looking for a highly motivated Satellite Vehicle Operator (SVO) to join our team to provide 24/7/365 satellite operations support to the Space Development Agency (SDA) Tranche 1 Tracking Layer (T1TRK) Program. This SVO position is located at SDA Operations Center - North (OC-N) facility in Grand Forks, ND. Responsibilities include performing satellite operations support of the T1TRK Program which includes 16 Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Missile Warning/Missile Defense campaign small satellites. Operations support tasks include use of Navy Research Lab (NRL) tools for spacecraft planning, navigation, telemetry, tracking, and control.



Primary Responsibilities


The Space Vehicle Operator (SVO) is responsible for executing satellite command and control operations and performing real-time satellite commanding and telemetry analysis. Responsibilities also include mission planning, training, and conducting all activities associated with satellite operation activities. The SVO shall:

  • Conduct real-time satellite operations that include commanding, telemetry analysis, and anomaly actions as required
  • Support satellite constellation mission planning activities
  • Perform satellite telemetry, tracking and commanding activities on satellite constellation
  • Assist with development of training material and training of satellite operators
  • Perform launch and early orbit checkout
  • Assist in developing/updating checklists and procedures for satellite and ground system operations
  • Operations support includes attending Daily Operations Stand-up meetings, shift changeover meetings, inputs to monthly in-progress reviews
  • Troubleshooting and solving network and ground system issues
  • Provide operational inputs to engineer and test teams
  • Configure satellite ground system and network supporting satellite operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • Desire to train and certify as a Satellite Vehicle Operator (SVO) to successfully execute satellite operations support tasks
  • Minimum of high school diploma and 4 years of prior relevant experience or an Associate of Science degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and successfully executing tasks


Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Satellite Vehicle Operator experience, to include telemetry, tracking and command, spacecraft procedures
  • Bachelor of Science degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Department of Defense space programs
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis to identify failure causes and develop resolutions
  • Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks through completion
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment

Associate of Science degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience

Secret security clearance



Shift Schedule โ€ฏ


The SVO position supports the SDA Operations Center 24-hours a day, 7-days a week on a rotating 8-hour shift schedule (day-shift, swing-shift, and mid-shift).


This is a full-time position, typically working 40-48 hours per week. Some travel may be required to client locations.
