This role requires a combination of account management and new business development. We are looking for someone who can build long-term customer relationships while actively identifying new opportunities and driving revenue growth.

The position is home-based in Southern California with approximately 50% travel throughout the Southwest territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts throughout the assigned Southwest territory.
  • Develop new business by identifying, prospecting, and pursuing potential customers and market opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, including engineering, purchasing, operations, and management teams.
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for assigned accounts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer applications, requirements, and future business opportunities.
  • Present and promote company products and solutions to prospective and existing customers.
  • Identify opportunities for new products, applications, programs, and account expansion.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, pricing, and customer requests.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established company guidelines.

  • Develop territory and account strategies to achieve sales and revenue objectives.
  • Work closely with internal engineering, customer service, operations, and product teams to support customer requirements.
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer developments throughout the territory.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and other business development activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in B2B sales, account management, territory sales, regional sales, or business development.
  • Experience selling electrical components, electronic components, electromechanical products, industrial automation products, power distribution products, or other technical/manufactured products.
  • Proven ability to manage existing accounts while developing new business.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical customer contacts.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and translate customer needs into business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a regional territory with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Strong organizational, forecasting, and pipeline-management skills.
  • Comfortable traveling approximately 50%.

Compensation

This position offers a negotiable base salary plus commission structure. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, industry background, existing customer relationships, and overall qualifications.

This position will be responsible for customers and business development throughout the Southwest region and requires approximately 50% travel.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven salesperson who also enjoys hunting for new business. You should be comfortable developing a territory, building relationships with technical and commercial decision-makers, identifying new applications and opportunities, and taking ownership of the sales process from initial prospecting through long-term account development.

If you have a strong technical or industrial sales background and are looking for an opportunity to develop and grow a regional territory, we encourage you to apply.
