Job description

Parra Consulting Group (PCG) is seeking a Technical Advisor to support DEVCOM/C5ISR efforts aligned to U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Science & Technology priorities. This position provides senior-level technical, operational, analytical, and program coordination support across a broad portfolio of emerging threat, counter-UAS, experimentation, and technology integration initiatives. The role supports mission-focused assessments, testing and evaluation activities, operational capability development, and coordination with Government, interagency, laboratory, and international mission partners throughout the SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility.
This successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide technical expertise and advisory support to USSOUTHCOM Science & Technology efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison between Government officials, technical teams, and partner organizations in support of emerging threat, experimentation, and capability development initiatives.
  • Support the planning, coordination, execution, and tracking of technical projects, operational assessments, and mission support activities.
  • Conduct market research and support testing and evaluation efforts for mission-relevant technologies.
  • Assist with vendor assessments and down-select activities to identify solutions that best support SOUTHCOM requirements.
  • Support maritime domain awareness initiatives, including technical efforts involving acoustic sensor detection and related capabilities.
  • Coordinate and support projects involving satellite, ISR, and advanced technology integration efforts.
  • Support the ITASAT2 initiative and related technical engagements involving mission payloads, edge computing, AI/ML, RF geolocation, and space weather efforts.
  • Conduct or support operational Science & Technology evaluations across multiple Combatant Command projects.
  • Support Counter-UAS and UAS exploitation opportunities across the SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility.
  • Assist with planning and coordination to deploy Counter-UAS capabilities into the SOUTHCOM AOR.
  • Represent SOUTHCOM requirements during technical meetings, working groups, and senior-level engagements.
  • Coordinate with organizations such as OSD, NASA, NRL, partner nation military organizations, and other Government stakeholders to support project objectives and mission alignment.
  • Provide technical recommendations, status updates, and coordination support to senior leadership and mission partners.
  • Support sensitive and classified mission efforts as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Master's degree and 10 years of related experience.
  • Education/Experience Equivalencies may be considered as follows:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of related experience
  • Associate degree plus 17 years of related experience
  • No degree plus 19 years of related experience

Required Experience
  • Experience providing technical advisory, operational, analytical, or program support in a DoD or Federal environment.
  • Experience supporting science and technology, experimentation, rapid capability development, or technical integration initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple Government stakeholders and mission partners.
  • Experience supporting testing and evaluation, technical assessments, or operational capability reviews.
  • Experience briefing or engaging senior military or civilian leadership on technical or mission-focused initiatives.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in classified and sensitive mission environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting USSOUTHCOM or other Combatant Command missions.
  • Experience with Counter-UAS, UAS exploitation, ISR, maritime domain awareness, or emerging threat technologies.
  • Experience supporting satellite, space, or advanced sensing initiatives.
  • Experience working with interagency, research and development, and international partner organizations.
  • Familiarity with SOUTHCOM regional mission priorities and operational requirements.
