Pay: Commensurate with experience and level of educational achievement according to Southern Adventist University's salary structure for faculty.
Job Summary: Southern Adventist University seeks a full-time teaching faculty member in the School of Business for face-to-face classroom instruction on the campus in Collegedale, TN, with expertise in business strategy / strategic management. The ideal candidate will draw on substantial prior professional experience in the for-profit sector to teach undergraduate and graduate courses that equip students with the frameworks, analytical tools, and decision-making skills needed for effective strategy formulation and execution. Ideal candidates will facilitate learning congruent with a Christian biblical worldview and Seventh-day Adventist beliefs, fostering student engagement, spiritual growth, and career readiness in ethical, purpose-driven business practice.
Qualifications - Required
•Earned doctorate in business strategy, strategic management, management, international business, or a closely related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the area of expertise.
•Significant prior professional experience in the for-profit sector (e.g., corporate strategy, management consulting, multinational operations, or related roles).
•Articulate integration of biblical foundations in business strategy and organizational decision-making. •Commitment to student learning, engagement, and holistic advising (academic, career, and spiritual).
Qualifications - Preferred
•Evidence of successful teaching business at the undergraduate and/or graduate level with a focus on student-centered, experiential learning grounded in a Biblical worldview.
•Evidence of strong academic research skills
Special Requirements: Must have a strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and be an SDA church member in good and regular standing.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, and telephone. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed under normal office/school conditions with little or no noticeable discomfort. Work area is well lighted and ventilated.
