Position Overview

As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for administering Kiewit's quality plan at the management level, ensuring that quality standards and procedures are effectively disseminated and implemented across all phases of project execution. Your role will include performing and reporting on internal quality system audits and supporting the administration of internal audit programs related to quality assurance.

This position is embedded within a dynamic environment where strategic infrastructure initiatives are underway across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. These projects support the development of AI data centers, enhance energy reliability, and promote community resilience. You will work in close collaboration with both the Infrastructure and Power groups, with a shared focus on utility infrastructure development.

Your leadership in quality management will be essential to ensuring that these high-impact projects meet rigorous standards, align with strategic goals, and deliver reliable, future-ready infrastructure across the South-Central region.

District Overview

Kiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Location

This role will be on site in either Abiline TX or El Paso TX. 

Responsibilities

   Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with project management, project team, authorized inspectors, and engineer or client as required.
   Coordinate quality control staffing needs on the project and assign responsibilities to qualified personnel.
   Assist project team in setting up the quality site-specific plans, holding points, and preparing for project kick-off and pre-job planning meetings.
   Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and other documentation for the project.
   Support the project team in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.
   Facilitate resolution of issues by working with the Project Manager.
   Monitor and report any quality incident to district leadership.
   Oversee code compliance for work.
   Assist in coordinating authorized inspection services for the project.
   Research and answer technical questions; assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.

Qualifications

   Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or a state PE license, OR relevant experience.
   Minimum 5 years of construction experience (including 1 year as a QC representative) on heavy civil construction projects.
   Ability to travel and/or relocate as needed.
   Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
   Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
   Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
   Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
   Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
   Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
   Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
