Job Description
As a valued leader on our Corporate Procurement Team, you will manage the team in developing the overall strategy for data, hardware and infrastructure categories and identifying potential sourcing and demand management opportunities. In this role, you will lead sourcing plan development and execution while collaborating with business stakeholders to drive optimal value for purchased goods and services. This role will ensure that purchasing processes are conducted in a manner consistent with corporate standards and internal control requirements. Reporting to this role will be two to three Category Managers / Advisors.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Oversee the team in conducting spend and demand analysis to identify opportunities, as well as ensure optimal spend leverage across the enterprise.
  • Provide oversight on development and maintenance of category plan and category strategies working in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Guide team in providing category insights and expertise to business stakeholders and manage internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to deliver tangible and sustainable value.
  • Oversee the development and management of key supplier relationships and interactions.
  • Monitor relationships with vendors / suppliers. Communicate Corporate Procurement standards to vendors / suppliers.
  • Monitor and/or lead the review of bid packages, proposals, selection of suppliers, and contract negotiations as well as other contractual documents and deliverables.
  • Negotiate or oversee negotiation with vendors to ensure optimal results for Fannie Mae.
  • Provide input on policy and process standardization and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
  • 6 years of experience in a Corporate Procurement function, preferably at a large for profit commercial company, or with a consulting / advisory firm.
  • Experience in IT hardware, infrastructure, and/or data procurement.
  • Deep and demonstrated knowledge in strategic sourcing, category management, strategy development and implementation.
  • Direct management/supervisory experience leading a team of at least 3 or more people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with key internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, procurement needs and identify cost effective solutions.
  • Strong project execution and management skills - plan development, team management, risk management, etc.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams to define sourcing strategy and execute strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Deep contract negotiation experience.
  • Results-driven leader with experience coaching teams to deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Leads by example by setting and meeting high standards for self and team.
  • Works effectively within tight deadlines.
  • Influences stakeholders effectively at all levels.
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Desired Experiences
  • Previous experience leading a team of Category Managers and Sourcing projects in IT hardware, infrastructure and data is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master's in business administration preferred.
