Job Description

This teamis responsible forsourcing Technology purchases(Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure) on a regional and global basis. Primary responsibility is to develop, negotiate and implement sourcing strategies by working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, security and legal, which then requires preparing and completing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Software, IT, and Automotive industries and thestrategicdirectionGM software and services is headed.

  • Ability to work effectively cross functionally,internallyand externally, while building strong relationships

  • Partner with IT and Business on strategy of supply base, technologies, products used, future products, technology roadmap, andviablesuppliers for technology requirements.

  • Active and effective participation with key stakeholders, including Engineering, IT, Business Stakeholders, Legal, and Security, among others.

  • Develop and manage suppliers under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations. This includes sound understanding of deadlines,requiredlead times, suppliercontractsand application types.

  • Manage annual renewal cadence anddeadlines proactively.

  • Negotiate competitive pricing, robust terms, and potential other items to complete a full contract package.

  • Develop andmaintainbenchmark data to drive a strategy.

  • Proven competence in negotiationskills

  • Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

  • Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures

  • Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chainsourcingprocessto manage Sourcing packages.

Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing(any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)

  • Analytical Thinking- Ability to effectively negotiate all terms and conditions. Considersvarious factorsin decision making todeterminesolutions and their impacts, and make recommendationsonthe terms

  • Strategic Mindset- Strong strategic thinking. Ability to create a technology roadmap by collaborating with IT. Thisincludes understanding the supply base, technologies, products used, future potential products, and howthis fitsintoIT'svision.

  • Data Judgement- Ability to objectively analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions to make sound recommendations

  • Informative Communication- Ability to communicate relevant information to theappropriate audience(including leadership) both effectively andtimely

  • Relationship Management- Develops andmaintainsconstructive, cooperative working relationships

  • Negotiation- Drive collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreements

  • Results Focus- Take charge without prompting, seize opportunities and deliver on time

  • Workload Management- Manage multiple tasks with quality and prioritize by critical needs, while moving with urgency

  • SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems

  • High level knowledge about Software/ technology Purchasing

  • Strongproficiencywith basic software concepts and ability to speakto Legal & Commercial Terms & Conditions

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time domestically + Internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of procurement software

  • Demonstrate strong execution skills

  • Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.

  • Understand basic engineering documents

  • Solid knowledge of contract law and its applicationsregardingpurchasing processes

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paidin accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York,Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is ( 124,200- 197,800 ). The actual basesalary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individualperformance.
