Capital One is looking for a Principal Associate to join our Tech Recruiting Team. This is an exciting opportunity to infuse the organization with talent brokers for Capital One. In partnership with your team, you will effectively manage candidates through the recruiting and selection process, provide consulting and guidance to our Talent Acquisition teams and participate in projects that enhance the recruiting experience. You will be passionate about keeping abreast of trends and innovative recruiting techniques that enable us to be a best-in-class recruitment shop.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers and business , group or organization leads, and key stakeholders to understand unique talent needs

  • Manage the full lifecycle recruiting process and hiring deliverables. This will include creating compelling position descriptions, sourcing diverse candidate pipelines, marketing Capital One's talent brand to attract top talent, screening candidates, advising business partners on the recruiting process, and negotiating job offers

  • Candidate management - develop and execute sourcing plans to identify and recruit top talent, owning the candidate development process from identification and engagement to offer extension and closing

  • Work cross-functionally across a team of high performing recruiters and promote a culture of inspiration, empowerment and inclusion

  • Leverage recruiting data to proactively provide status updates and hiring results to leadership and HR partners

  • Source stellar candidates. Look beyond direct applications and leverage search engines, career sites, recruiting events, and other innovative sourcing techniques to find the best talent in the market

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in recruiting OR 3 years of experience in human resources OR 3 years of client consulting experience OR a combination of the three

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification

  • 4+ years of experience in Corporate Recruiting - full life cycle, research, and sourcing

  • 2+ years experience consulting with multiple hiring managers at once while developing and enhancing excellent working relationships with those managers and their teams

  • Ability to influence and drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to use innovative techniques to attract and recruit diverse talent

  • Experience in compensation and general HR requirements as related to hiring

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Recruiter


Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Recruiter










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
